The Kansas chapter of Back Country Horsemen of America recently honored Steve & Priscilla
Lindsey with the BCHKS Lindsey Grant in appreciation of a lifetime of dedication to trail
building in Kansas. Steve and Priscilla were also founding members of BCHKS in 2013 and
have held leadership positions in the organization since its inception. Steve has served as chair of
the national BCHA Expansion Committee for several years.
Named for the founder of our Back Country Horsemen of Kansas chapter, the Lindsey Grant will
be awarded to members and regional chapters in amounts from $100 to $500. The BCHKS Grant
Committee will provide financial support for qualified programs that meet the Back Country

Horsemen of America’s Mission. Many of the trails on Kansas public lands have Steve and

Priscilla’s thumbprints on them, and they are known among Kansas equestrians from border to
border. It is hoped that the Lindsey Grant can continue their legacy of providing trails that will
provide enjoyment for generations to come.

Deadline for application is May 30th, with submissions allowed starting May 1st. The committee will review and assign awards to qualifying applicants.
